Morning
tour of Tashkent followed by a short flight to Urgench. Afternoon
tour of Khiva, the ancient walled city. Return to Urgench for the

Urgench/Bukhara
Experience
a whole different landscape as we drive through the Kyzylkum Desert
for Bukhara. |

Bukhara
Full
day tour of Bukhara- the setting, even today, takes us back to the
days of the Arabian Nights. |
| Day 5 |
Bukhara/Shakhrisabz/Samarkand
We
depart for Shakhrisabz, the birthplace of Tamerlane-the man who
made so much a difference to Central Asia. Later Continue to Samarkand. |

Continue
touring Samarkand before we depart by road for Tashkent. |

Next
stop is Bishkek, capital of Kyrgyzstan. |
| Day 8 |
Bishkek
/ Naryn
Morning
tour of Bishkek followed by a scenic drive to Naryn, meeting shepherds
in their yurt accommodated homes. We visit their homes and join
the families for soup. |

Naryn
/ Kashgar
Crossing
"modern" frontiers is half the fun on the Silk Road today.
We cross over to china and head for the major Silk Road trading
post of Kashgar. |
| Day 10 |
Kashgar
Tour
Kashgar-a city seemingly forgotten by time. Opportunity to try a
local taxi, which is motored by a donkey. |
| Day 11 |
Sunday bazaar / Tashkurgan
Visit
the famous and historical Sunday Bazaar before we had for Tashkurgan.
En route we stop at Karakol showing spectacular reflection of the
majestic Muztagh Ata peak. |

12 |
Kunjerab Pass / Hunza
Conquering
the world’s highest border crossing we descend on the last living
Shangri-La at the ‘Lost Horizon’ valley of Hunza. Overnight in Karimabad,
the capital of Hunza. Evening we visit a home of the Hunzakuts. |

Hunza
Morning
tour of Karimabad. Afternoon is free to experience a personal serenity
that Hunza offers. Evening optional Baltit Fort tour by night with
local dances and food. |

Hunza / Gilgit / Chilas
We
take the world famous Karakorum Highway to the ancient Silk Road
town of Gilgit. Short tour of Gilgit before continuing on to Chilas. |

Chilas / Swat Valley
A
spectacular drive through the Shangla Pass gets us to the enchanting
Swat Valley. En route we stop to meet various local folks and picturesque
sites. |

Swat Valley / Peshawar
Tour
of Saidu Shariff and Mingora. Later, we descend on the Malakand
Pass for the historic city of Peshawar. |

Peshawar & Khyber Pass
Step
back and experience history as we visit the historical Khyber Pass
followed by an afternoon tour of the exotic city of Peshawar. |

Peshawar / Taxila / Islamabad
Via
the Grand Trunk Route, we visit Taxila before a short drive takes
us to Islamabad Airport for our departure flight back home or an
extension to Lahore. |
